Aim
Towards Wisdom and Health.
Objectives
To support its members through:
- Providing a platform for educational development
- Addressing their learning needs
- Creating an educational network
- Representing the interest of Primary Care Educators
- Establishing a national identity for Primary Care Educators
We also maintain a national directory of GP Tutors, soon to include all Primary Care Educators.
What does the NAPCE do?
Negotiates on behalf of educators: with national bodies such as RCGP, GMC, Committee of GP Educational Directors (COGPED) and the Government through the GPC to address issues on pay and working conditions.
Provides induction, training and CPD: through provision of tools such as the Educators' Handbook and specific guidance on a variety of issues including Practice Professional Development Plans and Clinical Governance, inter-disciplinary learning; through the annual conference (which incorporates sessions for new tutors) and Master Classes.
Problem solves: by putting educator members in contact with each other in order to address individual educational queries.
Provides web site access: this makes available a database of educational resources, contact addresses and up-dates on activities.
Distributes a quarterly newsletter: to keep members in touch with what is happening in Primary Care Education.
Offers discounts: for the annual conference and a reduced subscription rate to 'Education for General Practice'.
